See all the Army training SSG Priest has benefited from, and where he'll go from here. No doubt it will be far, because as he says, "My capacity for knowledge is limitless."

BCT/AIT: BECOMING A SOLDIER

Photo of a Soldier in Basic Combat Training

Like all Soldiers, SSG Priest started with Basic Combat Training (BCT). But his training was unique because it was combined with Advanced Individual Training (AIT)—this is called One Station Unit Training (OSUT). Here he became stronger learning his Soldiering skills and the skills to do his first Army job: Armor Crewman.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"My name is Sergeant Lee Priest. 15 Romeo, Apache Mechanic. I did Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

They have what you call OSUT, which is a One Stop Unit Training. AIT and Basic Training was combined.

Basic Training prepares you for everything that the Army has to throw at you later.

I really didn't believe that I could pass the PT (Physical Training) test. I really didn't believe that I could shoot an M16.

But once I got into it and believed in myself to do it, it happened."
