Holistic Health & Fitness

Changing our fitness culture.

The strength of the Army goes beyond the physical abilities of our Soldiers. With the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) system, we focus on every aspect of wellness to improve Soldier and unit readiness across the Army.

Actionable Health Advice

Our “All You” series takes the guesswork out of health and wellness for motivated Soldiers focused on reaching their full potential.

Putting Holistic Health into practice.

We’re creating systems and opportunities to improve the well-being of our Soldiers—both in and out of uniform.

Physical

We’re prioritizing the physical fitness and training required to meet the demands of the Army Fitness Test (AFT) and succeed in any mission. Soldiers have access to athletic trainers to maximize movement and strength and ensure mission readiness.

Mental

We’re building mental strength and awareness through constant training and skill refinement, so Soldiers can adapt during difficult situations. Every Soldier has access to behavioral health programs and therapists to boost mental toughness.

Nutritional

We’re focused on dietary guidelines to ensure our Soldiers are properly fueled to complete the demands of duty. All Soldiers have access to a registered dietitian to optimize nutrition through personalized programs and education.

Spiritual

We’re using religious, philosophical, and human values to help Soldiers find purpose during times of stress or adversity. Unit Ministry Teams of trained counselors provide Soldiers with confidential spiritual guidance to unlock a more resilient Army.

Sleep

We’re examining sleep behaviors and recognizing factors that help us understand how to achieve optimal brain health. Soldier readiness is positively impacted by improved sleep habits.

Increase strength of the mind, body, and soul.

Work with a team of experts.

The Army’s mental health specialists, strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, dietitians, spiritual leaders, and other wellness experts are integral to our programs and keeping Soldiers at their best.
