We’ve accomplished plenty, but our job is never finished. The Army continues to break barriers by innovating, empowering, and improving social conditions as America’s oldest military force.
The fight for independence began and the Army founded a legacy of defending the nation and providing stability.
The Army introduced new tanks and aircraft during World War I and continues to drive tech innovation influencing advancement around the world.
Army engineering has made an impact throughout history. Notably, the Army Corps of Engineers constructed the Panama Canal in 1914, and the Civilian Conservation Corps—led by Army Officers—helped boost the country during the Great Depression.
The Army makes a social impact by creating and distributing life-saving medicines in response to disaster relief such as with the Coronavirus, Ebola, and Zika viruses.
Over the years, many Soldier-athletes have represented our country and the U.S. Army at the Olympic Games. It’s an honor to get to compete at the highest level for the world to see. They bring home those experiences, and sometimes a medal, which inspires others to be all they can be.
